The pain is locked up,

Boxed into rooms where

It can rest, settle and

Seep into the floor.

But it has pervaded

The ground and submerged

Into soil, where it takes over,

Takes form across the earth.

And now it springs up,

Bearing fruit, permeating

The walls, as they shift

Against each other on

Opposite sides. The walls

Wear thing, as tension grates

At the wooden beams,

Competing for space.

Until it dissolves and turns

Into dew. A morning breathe.

The air is light-

As a feather

The ceiling,

Sweeping over the curtains

To the window across the room.
